- The pause (rather than end) of an era! I’m writing this post a few months later than I wanted to, and to a degree it sort of feels redundant to do so now, but that’s a good thing (which I’ll get to later). For the people that have reached out, I want to explain in a bit more detail the reasons that made me step down from the role of Director of Futsal for Cambridge United Football Club and my decision to not be involved in the new Cambridge Futsal Club committee, as well as what my plans for the future are.
- Deliberately practice servant leadership and why it’s hard! Around 6 months ago, Dan North visited Redgate and spoke to us about this idea of servant leadership and a few stories surrounding it. It all made perfect sense, it all resonated with how we believed we should lead and treat people but it was quite easy to find examples of times when we weren’t doing that so well. Read on if you would like some insight about a time where it didn’t go so well and how we managed to eventually figure out why!
- London Tester Gathering Workshops 2016 Last week I attended the London Tester Gathering Workshops.
- Running your Selenium checks on Microsoft Edge For the last week or so, after spending some time upgrading some of our existing selenium client machines I thought it would be a good idea to find out more about Selenium checks (tests…) on Microsoft’s new browser, Edge.
- My first public talk! I began my professional career as a software tester just over 3 years ago. Back then, if anyone had asked me if in 3 years’ time I would be presenting a topic to a bunch of fellow professionals I would have thought they were crazy.
- Agile Testing Days 2015 November in my work calendar means only one thing: Agile Testing Days 2015.
- Agile Testing Days 2014 Last November I attended Agile Testing Days 2014. If you read my previous posts you would recognise this was the second time I attended the conference.
- CAST 2014 Back in August 2014 I was fortunate enough to attend CAST 2014.
- Agile Testing Days 2013 - Day 3 Talk Notes In the last day, after being in Germany for just over 4 days, I decided to still attend the morning talks and take a look at the sketching workshop (which I left after the break: I was tired, and I’m really poor at drawing, which meant that I couldn’t even concentrate on what we were asked to do, so I thought I’d give it another go another time). Here are the key points in the morning talks I attended.
- Agile Testing Days 2013 - Day 2 Talk Notes The second day of the conference, and when I was already feeling quite exhausted, I attended a couple of talks in the morning and just sat down in the main room during the afternoon to see what the consensus were about. Here are my notes for the day.
